Steve spent the first twelve years of his working life at the Sedgwick Group Plc (which was bought by MMC in 1998) and he left the group in 1999 as an Assistant Director. Steve spent the next year employed as a Business Development Director for an internet start-up. In 2001, he was approached to join The Industrial Society as a Leadership Consultant and he held this post for the next three and a half years. Steve left The Work Foundation (formerly known as The Industrial Society) in December 2004 to set up Now That’s Different Limited with Neil and Bob. He holds two other directorships: one for Ortanix Limited – an independent development and coaching business, and one for 1st Steps To Success Limited – an online career and employment advisory service.

Steve is a regular speaker and/or facilitator on a variety of personal development programmes across the UK. He has also spoken at a number of European events.

Steve graduated with an MBA from Henley Management College in 2001 and is a qualified business and performance coach. As a coach, Steve regularly works with a cross-section of junior, middle, and senior managers to help them to remove existing interferences in order to facilitate performance improvement. He is recognised as an ‘Approved Performance Coach’ for a number of different organisations and he is a qualified MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) Practitioner.

Steve has been an adviser to, and member of, a number of leadership working parties including one for the Department for Work and Pensions and one for the Department of Culture Media and Sport.

Steve has a keen interest in alternative development and over the past seven years he has worked with a variety of creative partners to design and deliver fun and stimulating leadership, communication and team-based workshops for clients in the private, public, voluntary and arts sectors.
